Why I chose this photo:  I love worlds and this one is quite amazing. I enjoyed how the artist gave step by step revelations as to how he and his friend put this together. Well done with a great captured sense of a war torn society.
Please be sure to check out his website. He’s available for commissions!
A matte painting collaboration done with my friend Gaétan Weltzer (DesignSpartan) for Slashthree’s 20th exhibition “War”: www.slashthree.com/exhibitions…

The scene depicts a classic dystopia: riots in a city of a totalitarian regime, a concept inspired by various media.
I really hope you like this image as we had a lot of fun working on this scene. We did the first brainstorming and sketches in May and send the psd file back and forth for more than 4 months, so we spent quite some time on this image alltogether. It was a great pleasure to work with Gaétan!

His version:

The base plate and other stock images are from shutterstock.com, the model shown on the screens is jademacalla.

Hey everyone.
My name is Erik and I am a Photoshop hobbyist from Germany. I have started practicing Digital Art around 2005 and since then I have come to love the genres of Photomanipulation, Space Art and Matte Painting.

In the past I have pursued a digital art career more seriously, joining up several renowned art collectives such as Depthcore, SlashThree and EvokeOne.
Besides, my work has been published in various books and magazines, among them the official Advanced Photoshop Magazine, The Book of Creation and even Ballistic: Exposé.

By now I have a real job and practice digital art solely as a hobby. So no use to ask me about commissions.

Thank you for your interest in my page!

Why I chose this photo:

There is raw beauty within showing that no matter what we’ve done–does torturing anyone really justify anything? Great food for thought and well captured in this picture.

THE EFFECT OF WAR

The effect of war by Sayuri1314

“Inspired purely by reading history books. Contrary to what the fandom sometimes think, Finland wasn’t home doing the dishes while Sweden was at war.” Sayuri1314

WHY I CHOSE THIS PHOTO:

It displays the true core of every human. In amongst war there’s those beautiful moments where we act “human”.

Feeling feelings, fangirling and generally enjoying life. I like colours and light, symbols, water in all it’s forms, music like this, and those people who are so very dear to me.

I dislike my lack of flexibility and plastic-looking colouring in art.

I used to think I was a special weirdo, but now I have come to the conclusion that I’m pretty darn normal. And that’s ok.

My username is my real name run in a “your name in japanese!” generator when I was 13. Ahaha. Old days of glory.

Current Residence: Uppsala
Favourite genre of music: alternative pop-rock… I think.
Favourite style of art: I like expressive styles with good uses of color :)
Personal Quote: What does it matter in a hundred years?

WHY I CHOSE THIS PHOTO:

Even though war ends–the memories, the fears, and the effects stay creating an internal war within each survivor…

War by kika1983

“…war can be really cruel! …hush little baby don’t you cry…”

WHY I CHOSE THIS PICTURE:

Kika portrays the innocence of a child in exactly what war can be: cruel and unfair.

Excellent job. This photo speaks volumes. Kika takes on commissions. Please visit her DEVIANTART page HERE or a page she’s been working on HERE.
